Chapman's Zebra
(Equus quagga antiquorum)
Familie: Horses, Habitation: northern parts of South Africa and South-West Africa
Appearance: Their black-and-white stripes are an excellent camouflage in steppes. The air swirls, shade of the trees and bushes stand as an absolute solution for their body outline. Zebras are tolerant to our conditions to be bred and without any problems sustain low temperatures in winter.  Lifestyle: They are diurnal animals, which haunt are plain steppes and
downs. Zebras build a lifelong unity of females' herds with strong harem bounds with one adult stallion. His functions are - the protector and the highest animal in the hierarchy, but an old mare is often the leading one. The main enemies of the zebras are lions. When the enemy is spotted, we can see dispersed zebras calling each other. They
recognise each by sight because of the different stripes.
