Amur tiger (Siberian tiger)
(Panthera tigris altaica)
Family: felids
Appearance: long, thick yellowish fur, that in winter is without the red colour. It's claws measure up to 10 cm and thanks to the sinews and bands they can fully retract.
The overall length: about 4 m.
Lifestyle: Tigers exist in the wild only in Asia. They are day- and dusk-active animals, that are also active at night in strongly hunted areas. Usually, they are loners occupying large territories. To mark the territory they scratch the trees, urinate and leave dung. Amur tigers live in difficult conditions in the forests with the water nearby. To the North they exist also in
open landscapes. They are good swimmers and divers. They are not sensitive to cold and snow. 
They belong to endangered animal species.
Reproduction: o In the beginning of the heat, females search for males. Tigers live in the mating season and 
few week after together. Cubs stay with mother for 2-4 years, Gestation period: 108-110 days
Litter size: 1-6, 
Lactation period: 5-6 months,
Sexual maturity: 2-3 years
Nourishment: Wild boars, deers,
antelopes, rodents, fish and frogs
