SPACESHIP EARTH

Picture the earth as a gigantic spaceship with mankind as is its crew racing through space. All connections with the home planet have been interrupted. The crew must survive with the available supplies of food, water, oxygen and energy. While the number of people on board is increasing, supplies are diminishing. At the same time, amounts of wastes and pollutants are growing. Life is becoming increasingly difficult. The air for breathing is getting scarce. Some inhabitants of the spaceship are starting to panic. Others are hoping for someone to have a last-minute idea on how to solve all these problems and are therefore exploiting the dwindling supplies despite better knowledge and warnings. You can determine the further developments aboard the spaceship
by trying to find solutions
for these problems
and by becoming
active your-
selves.
Remember, that you are the passengers!

Endangering God's Creation is not only the problem of an individual state but of the whole world.
The earth's resources and the environment's ability to cope with damaging factors are limited. Population growth and rising standards of living lead to increased production and consumption. As a result, resources are diminished and pollutants put ever more stress on the environment. The simultaneous processes of resource depletion and pollution increase multiply each other's negative effects.
